no question too small. promise.

Q01

How much does a matric jacket cost?

YR1 matric jackets start at R470 per jacket: hoodies from R470, track tops from R480 and varsity bombers from R510. The all-over dye-sub option is quoted per project. Every price includes the school badge, embroidered or printed, plus the learner's own name.
Q02

Is there a minimum order?

Yes: 30 jackets per class. Each project is one production run for one class, so the whole class orders together during the order window.
Q03

When do orders open and close?

Orders open Aug to Dec each year, for the following matric year's class. Signing up, designing and voting can all happen before your class's order window opens.
Q04

Do we have to pay anything upfront?

No. Signing up, submitting a design and running the class vote cost nothing. Money only moves when orders open and learners (or the school) pay for the jackets.
Q05

How does the design process work?

The class uploads its colours, school badge and style preferences from the project dashboard. Our team turns them into jacket mockups for the class to vote on. You approve the design before anything goes into production.
Q06

How does the class voting work?

Every learner in the class gets a vote on the mockups. The design with the most votes wins: the class picks the jacket, not a committee.
Q07

Can learners pay individually, or does the school collect the money?

Both work. Either every learner pays for their own jacket online, or the school collects the money and settles one invoice with YR1. Your project picks one mode; the price is the same either way.
Q08

Do you deliver outside Johannesburg?

Yes. Jackets are cut, printed and stitched at our own factory in Johannesburg and delivered to schools in all nine provinces of South Africa.
Q09

Who can start a project?

Any teacher, parent or class rep. You register the school and class year, and the project is created immediately: no approval gate, no paperwork, and signup takes about five minutes.
Q10

How do sizes work?

Every learner orders their own jacket and picks their own size, using the size chart for the style the class chose. Nobody has to collect a size list by hand.
Q11

How do we track the order?

Each order has a tracking page at yr1.co.za/track that follows the jacket from the order window through production to delivery day.
Q12

What is the QR code on the jacket?

A QR label stitched into every jacket opens the class's digital yearbook wall: photos, messages and the design the class voted for. It stays online long after school ends.

Answered? Good. Now start.
